Nerul is home for almost two thousand Nair families scattered across the width and breadth of Nerul and nerulnss.com is their website, of course, together with their extended families, friends and well-wishers. It's a platform for them to get together virtually and/or in person, to share their little pleasures and pains, to express their little ideas for the betterment of Nairs and Nerul; the progress and prosperity of both are interwoven.

Nerul Nair Seva Samaj- a charitable organization created for the welfare of society at large and particularly the Nair community in Nerul, Navi Mumbai-came into existence on 22nd, 2008. Registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860, The Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950, and Income Tax Act, 1964, the Samaj was inaugurated on 14th September 2008. The Samaj retains the umbilical cord- culture uniqueness of the Nairs at the janambhumi (place of birth) - while adapting many practices of the times of the karmabhumi (place of domicile).

The main objective of this organisation is to provide a non-political forum to bring together the Nairs and strengthen the common bonds of culture, tradition and way of life. The charter of the organisation recognizes the revolutionary transformation taking place at global levels as a result of quantum leaps in technology. Nerul NSS works to bolster their cultural, artistic and social uniqueness and give resilience and understanding towards other cultures with which they have to co-exist and interact.

To translate these avowed goals, committed Nairs with vision and integrity are elected to the Governing Body and are responsive to the needs of the diverse multi racial geographical milieu in which the Nairs of Nerul move about. This is an organisation that walks the talk. It believes in exceeding the expectations; not in hollow promises or mundane activities. It sincerely thinks that it can make a difference.

It provides opportunities and capabilities for people of all age groups to provide leadership and service to the community they live in. Nerul NSS gives special emphasis to the development of the new generation of NRN (Non Resident Nairs) in such a way that an equilibrium is created whereby they are not alienated from the mainstay Kerala Nairs and the Mega polis of Mumbai.

As the old Sanskrit maxim goes - SANGHAT SANJAYATEY SANDHI - unity brings amity. Come forward, join us and let's do together. Don't be left out of this great movement. We are sure, you will experience the difference and be able to rekindle your inner sprit....
